What Am I Looking At? Isaiah 45:22

This question seems definite in thought but mostly the truth is usually hidden from the real picture. By the grace of God, the real picture that is to be seen will get handy in Jesus name.

The necessity of the word LOOKING is reasoned form a scenario where an event is actually happening surrounded with a lot of witnesses watching to get from it, each according to their desires.

The world we live in today finds itself carrying a lot of people along, giving them several things to keep looking at thereby creating a great divergence or course that is 360^o different from the supposed real picture.

These areas of focus are so many and distractive in their own ways of which are wealth, fame, power, lust etc. it has come to dig deep in minds that even the average man desires them. This gets so intoxicating in everyone that we want to go to any extent, whether good or bad to achieve any of these.

The main intention of this exhortation is to make us know that there is a better and lasting way to achieve anything you want. This is because every other way has an ending or expiry date which yours could be tomorrow, next week or next month. What happens when they end? What will you run after? Even if they do not leave you, what if you leave them?

Looking also in this context depicts DEPENDENCY or HOPING for a particular thing which could be in the bracket of aforementioned desires. Experiencing further on this, all other areas of desires ends in futility i.e. TOTAL LOSS but this write up is here to tell you about that right way.

The question that comes to mind is, is it wrong to look for or desire all these things? The answer is NO, what then is the problem? (This includes where you go and how you get what you desire). Have this at the back of your mind (when a foundation is faulty, definitely the structure will not last long i.e. when you get your desires wrongly; they will only not last but can also destroy you.

After all these, the question is back on your desk. WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT? At this point, you will have you to sit, consider, think through it and come to a conclusion knowing the right thing to do. You also need to note all that I have said earlier in this write up that not all desires are bad but sometimes good things become extremely bad when they are not rightly sought for.

My dear reader, there is a source that has all these things to give to anyone who really wants and will use them for good intentions. He is not scarce or hidden; you don’t need to move from where you are to a far distant land to meet with him. It wouldn’t cost you a dime to achieve your desires; just one thing is required from you, and that is, instead of looking at all other unreal things (Mirage), LOOK TO HIM (Isaiah 45:22) HIS NAME IS JESUS. The bible also states in Psalm 34:5- “those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame” (NIV).

The above scripture mean that if you can make Him your point of Focus (Focal Point) in place of every other things, He will ensure that none of this things disappoints you, you will not receive any moment of sadness using them. To further explain this, have you ever come across rich and wealthy people who cannot confidently walk around the city of who cannot sleep or eat conveniently because they have do’s and don’ts in the way they live, the kind of food they eat which whenever they transgress, all they have ever acquired will be destroyed which sometimes leads to untimely death. This and so many happens a lot and that’s the sincere reason why this write up is before you to know what actually you should begin to look at.

In addition, apart from every other thing He will give you, He is also ready to show you how well to use them. Let me list a few of things He has promised to give you. They are:

i.                    Salvation (Save you from Satan’s Destruction)

ii.                 Wealth – Deuteronomy 8:18

iii.               Peace

iv.               Joy

v.                  Sound Health etc.

In other words, He promises to give you all and also teach you how to maintain it so that it will not bring you sorrow or bad end.

HOW DO I GET THEM?

The bible in the book of Luke 15:34 says “…so you cannot become my disciple without giving up everything you own”. This means you are to give up looking at all other things you have been looking at in the past and start to look at Him (Jesus).

WHO IS HE?

He is JESUS, the son of God who is the creator of all things. At the moment, he is here with you asking you to give him a chance to reveal Himself to you so that you can know him more.

WHAT DO I DO NOW?

Very Simple! Just repeat after me,

Lord Jesus, I have come to understand that all this while I have been looking for my desires in the wrong places, but now I have seen the way which is YOU. I give you the chance to come and show yourself more to me. I surrender my life to you to give and teach me all things. Forgive me for everything I have done wrong before this time. Thank you, Jesus. Amen.
