Shapened in Wrong Hands

There are many shapes in this world used for many purposes but the specific ones are quite more in number. The architectural design of life is a very wonderful mental picture of the different kinds of shapes that is made but it is saddening that these days, you find lives that looks formless.

Recounting from the day of our primary education, we know shapes to be drawings of many editable sides and angles (square, cube, cuboid, triangle, prism) and each with its uniqueness. This determines to a large extent where it can be used, who uses it, and how it can be used, who likes it and how acceptable it could be at different times.

The focus of this short piece speaks of the shape analogy which applies to all lives on earth. All lives were made and shaped by God a long time before our existence and is still being shaped till we finish our tasks here on earth. God the creator of all things had made us the most complex and inspiring creature on earth with specific purposes but we see the opposite many times.

This question might be running through your mind: If God has shaped us and all He has made is good, why do we then see crooked and wicked people and situations?

God made all things good and glorious reflecting His glory (Isaiah 47:3) and He designed how all the things He made should be utilized without sifting from the specific purposes and paths He drew for them. It is sad that many of us disagreed with their creator on this purpose and path so we devised other ways of making our ends met. It was at this point that a new shaper but wicked shaper resumed office in our lives.

This shaper is hardly known but never accepted because he is a deceiver (Satan) using what seemed to be each ones deepest interest to trap them, suggesting to people in deceit through unnoticed means (money, women, men, greed, lust, envy, jealousy etc) to reshape their lives and purpose.

The essence for this piece is bring us all to the point of questioning the title - By whose hands am I shaped? This question does not often come to mind because everyone seems to run after his own ends but none thinks of glorifying His maker by seeking to know if He is walking in the purpose framed by God.

The scripture calls him the Potter in Jeremiah 18:1-5. There are important lessons to note from these 5 verses. We will look into some of them…

vs 2:
So I went down to the potter’s house, and I saw him working at the wheel.

I pictured two potters here presumably ruling the lives of men in this world; the Master Potter (God) and the Deceiver (Devil) and both of them are actively working at achieving something but their intentions are different. The Master Potter (God) works in us to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose - Phil 2:13 while the other potter (Devil) works to STEAL, KILL and to DESTROY us.  However, it is surprising to know that we are the ones that decide who we want to be in charge of our lives.

If we stay in the devil hands, our end product will result in being MARRED (Stolen from, Killed and Destroyed) but if you decide for God, you will have a hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11)

Did you start in God's hand and sifted to the hand of the devil? How did it happen? God says come back, take the decision, allow me and I will redeem you and remold you.

Are you willing? Just say this after me: Lord Jesus, I have left you, followed after other lusts thinking they will take through but I see that rather than helping me it destroys me, i am sorry. Lord Jesus, I need you back in control of my life. Help me and redeem through Christ Jesus name. Amen.

Begin a new turn with God henceforth.
